From 2005 to 2008, Myspace was the largest social networking site in the world, and in June 2006 surpassed Google as the most visited website in the United States. Myspace was co-founded by Tom Anderson who is known as "Myspace Tom". This is because until 2010 he would automatically be assigned as the first "friend" of new Myspace users upon the creation of a profile.
